The Pocket Trainer Body Fat calculator uses equations and methods developed at the US Naval Health Research Center by Hodgdon and Beckett in 1984. The measurements should be taken as follows:•Height: Measured from the floor to the tip of your head while standing straight.•Neck: Tape measure should remain parallel to the floor and should be snug to the skin but not enough to compress the underlying soft tissue. •Waist: Measure horizontally around the waist at the belly button for men and at the level with the smallest width for women. Do not pull your stomach inwards while taking the measurement. •Hips (Women only): Measure the circumference at the hips at the largest horizontal measure.
